iPhone 13 Pro Max Unboxing & Setup
Firstly, this ain’t my phone. It’s my wife’s new iPhone. We alternate years for upgrades, and next year, it will be my turn again. This way, we both get reasonably up to date technology, without having to spend too much. Because these days, iPhones aren’t cheap. In Australia, they retail at around $2500 for the middle / upper model (this year was the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 512GB storage). And that’s not including the cost of a screen protector, case, and of course, the monthly usage fee.
I have a rule. Never open something for the first time, if it’s not yours. Part of the enjoyment of a new iPhone is opening the box, pulling off the tags, and being the first set of fingerprints that appear on the phone. Even if you buy your phone in person at an Apple Store and have them fit a screen protector, you get to open the box. You. Not the sales associate. One of the subtle things that makes me appreciate the customer service from Apple.
Because of the global pandemic and supply chain issues, this year’s iPhone has not been easy to get. As in, you can’t just walk into an Apple Store, or any other store for that matter, and get one. But, even nearing Christmas, Apple has this uncanny ability of overdelivering by getting your online order to you in less than a week, and that’s with free shipping. This is awesome.
My first priority when opening any new phone is to protect it. With a screen protector and a case. I hate having scratches on my tech. Hate it with a passion. Once this “armour” is on, then I start setting it up. And I’ve made a quick video on my channel to show you how I set up any new phone in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of hassle. I hope you enjoy the video.
Catch you next time,
