OMG- I Just Ordered A Tesla Model 3!
I'm very excited! I've thought about this for a long time, and as of this week, I paid the $350 to start the process. There is a 5-7 month wait these days for a car due to its popularity and supply chain issues as a result of the global pandemic, and as my lease ends in 5 months, I had no time to waste!
First of all, Teslas are not cheap. Far from it. But they have a lot of tech (which I love), and they don't require me to have to go to a petrol station, which I also love. I admit that I know very little about cars in general (and that's why I have never purchased a used car because I'm sure I'd get ripped off), but I love tech, and Teslas are at the top of my mind when it comes to automobile technology.
And the only reason I bought this car is because I wanted a safe, high-tech, and fun car to drive. There is no other reason. Whilst they are undoubtedly awesome, I have no interest in buying a Ferrari or a Lambo (even if I could afford it- which I can't) just to flex. I'm not that kinda person.
In some ways, getting a Model 3 has been an easy decision, and in other ways, a difficult one. I am in love with the tech in this car, but it is a whole big chunk of money which depreciates the moment I click the buy button on my iPad.
I am making a series of videos that document my Tesla journey, starting from the reason why I want a Tesla, to the ordering process, the waiting, through to delivery and beyond. I hope that you'll find some information on here that will help you make your own choice. I will endeavour to present both the good points and the bad points of owning a Tesla (I'm sure there will be both, I'm hoping that the positives significantly outweighs the negatives). My video series starts here.
In part 1, I give you a back story, the reason why I need to order the car yesterday, how a novated lease might work with an electric vehicle, and the basic differences between the different versions of the Model 3.
And please, if you have any questions about a Tesla purchase, please reach out. I'd love to have a chat with you.
Have a great day!
Until next time,
D
