It's been a few years since we were Zoo Friends, but with our new daughter, we've decided to re-join. Not renew, because we've been away so long that we had to repay the $20 joining fee (this happens if your membership lapses for more than 12 months).
We haven't been to the zoo for a long time, and our favourites were there. The only problem at the moment is that there is a lot of renovation going on at the zoo, and there are fences up all over the place. This definitely makes the paths look more narrow, and detracts from the overall ambience of the attraction. All in the name of progress and renewal, I guess.
Anyhow, we only got through maybe a third of the zoo, so we'll be back soon. We want to see the Sumatran tigers, something we didn't get to see this time. And not forgetting we've spent $220 to renewal our annual passes (good for 2 adults and up to 4 kids)!
For some reason, I really like the alpacas and the ducks! Are they even zoo animals??
